THE ENVIRONMENT

All material is recycled and given to charities (e.g. The Scottish Association for Mental Health), schools and universities for use as mulch.  We also supply wood-chip to other interested parties, either in bulk or in 1-tonne bags. When practicable, we try and encourage clients to form 'eco-piles' on site which can provide benifit to the resident flora and fauna.

Our employees are also aware of wildlife environmental issues and we hold LANTRA Awards in Bat Awareness, a course designed by the Bat Conservation Trust.

We undertake regular conservation work for a number of bodies including the Scottish Wildlife Trust. We have particular interest in tree work on sensitive sites and our contracting team undertakes management projects involving Veteran Tree Management.

Relevant legislation includes:

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended)
The Conservation (Natural Habitats &c.) Regulations 1994
