Environment
Frontier Forestry is committed to caring for the environment. As such, we minimise waste and re-use as much material as possible. Appropriate waste is recycled and given to charities, schools and universities for use as mulch. We can also supply wood-chip to other organisations or domestic customers, either in bulk or 1-tonne bags. Where practicable, we encourage our clients to form 'eco-piles' on site which can provide a number of environmental benefits to the resident flora and fauna.
Our employees are very aware of wildlife environmental issues
and we are one of the few tree care specialists to hold the
LANTRA Award in Bat Awareness, a course designed and
approved by the Bat Conservation Trust.
As part of our services, we undertake regular conservation work for
a number of bodies including the Scottish Wildlife Trust. We have
specialist skills in tree care on sensitive sites and our team is
also involved in management projects relating to Heritage Tree
Management.
Relevant Legislation
We comply with current relevant legislation, which includes The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended) and The Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994. We ensure that our team is made aware of amendments to existing, or new legislation, and our training programmes take account of these as they are brought into force.
